Tablet PC Reviews
TabletKiosk's eo v7110 UMPC carries a mixed bag of features and capabilities to satisfy the needs of certain mobile professionals. The eo is a hip looking device that can make a great alternative to carrying a larger Tablet PC or notebook computer. TabletKiosk offers custom configuration options such as a whopping 160GB hard drive and various add-ons such as the extended battery and dock. With that kind of flexibility coupled with the relatively low $899 base price, the eo can easily fit the needs to get you or your business functionally mobile.

UMPC: better, but the jury's still out
ZDNet UK
We've just reviewed our second Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC), the R2H from ASUS. In case you'd forgotten, the UMPC caused something of a stir back in February/March when Microsoft ran a teaser campaign for Origami (Redmond's codename for what turned out to be the UMPC) — a small slate-style Tablet PC running Windows XP.
Optimists hoped that Origami/UMPC systems would be go-anywhere, do-anything wonder-gadgets, but the bubble of anticipation soon burst when Samsung unveiled the Q1 at CeBIT in Hannover. The Q1, although a neat enough piece of kit, was short on features, processing power and battery life, and long on price (£799 inc. VAT).
It's taken until now to get our hands on a second UMPC, and the ASUS R2H is a big improvement. It still costs £799 (inc. VAT), which will get you a very decent traditional notebook, but (in the UK at least) you get a great set of extras and add-ons, including a digital TV tuner, folding keyboard, external DVD rewriter and a mouse. That's on top of built-in features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1.3-megapixel digital camera. We certainly enjoyed setting up this little critter on the desk and keeping an eye on the TV news.
Next-gen OQO ultra-portable computer coming
TG Daily
OQO has been selling its portable "model 01" computer more about 26 months without significant changes. The once much anticipated design has settled in a market niche that is now being populated by ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs). Rumors about a potential successor have flying around for some time, but a FCC filing now confirms that the device will be announced soon.

Today, the OQO model 01+ sells from $1200 and will be replaced by a completely new design soon. According to a filing published on the FCC website today, the new ultra-portable computer has been approved by the organization and could be ready for introduction in the near future. Expect the model 02 to make its debut during CES 2007 (January 8-11) or earlier.
Images and technical specifications of the device have not been published due to a confidentiality request by OQO.

How Microsoft Botched Marketing The Ultra-Mobile PC -- And Why You Might Want To Buy One Anyway
TechWeb
Who Should Buy A UMPC?
UMPCs are versatile little computers. I should know, I've been using ultra-portable computers for several years. I could see early on that the benefits of having a full computer small enough to take everywhere would revolutionize my ability to capture productive time that is normally lost. What makes UMPCs so appealing is the ability to use a full Windows XP-based computer virtually anywhere I go.
Professionals shouldn't discount the UMPC out of hand just because they look too cute for serious business. These are full computers and can do anything that needs to be done in a business setting. Sales representatives can use UMPCs in the field because they are so light and small compared to full notebook computers. They are easy to carry. Since they run same programs as a desktop PC, there are no compromises when the need arises to access important customer information.

HTC reportedly to offer its first UMPC in 1H 2007
DigiTimes, Taiwan
High Tech Computer (HTC), a leading Taiwan-based maker handsets, will offer its first ultra-mobile PC (UMPC), code named Athena, in the first half of 2007 at the soonest, according to industry sources.
HTC has actively stepped into UMPC development and production in light of the market niche between notebook PCs and smartphones, the sources indicated.
Athena will have the following features: a Marvel 624MHz processor; Microsoft Windows Mobile Pocket PC operating system; a 5-inch VGA screen; a separate QWERTY keyboard which can combine with the screen to become a mini notebook PC; a built-in 3-megapixel phone camera with an 8GB hard disk drive; support for Wi-Fi, 3G, HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access), Bluetooth and GPS (global positioning system), the sources pointed out. As Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and 7-inch screens are mainstream specifications for UMPC models, Athena is different in these two respects, the sources noted
